Dr Andrew Gerber

Dentist

Dr Andrew Gerber - Andrew graduated from Queensland University in 1994 and spent two years with the Royal Australian Air Force before moving into private practice in Queensland. He has a particular interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry and has built a reputation on providing exceptional quality restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Andrew's interest extends to neuromuscular dental care, facial growth development orthodontics and airway management incorporating sleep apnea and snoring treatment. He has undertaken extensive studies under Dr Steven Olmos, founder of the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre and Dr Steve Galella, founder of the Facial Beauty Institute, which has given him the knowledge to assist patients who have acute and chronic pain, airway issues and facial growth development. He has also studied with the renowned Las Vegas Institute. Andrew is a member of the Australian Dental Association.  He has also been contracted by some of Australia's largest dental supply companies to provide clinical training for other dentists.

Away from work, Andrew is an enthusiastic cyclist who loves competing in both road cycling racing, track racing and triathlons.  More recently he has become involved in junior rowing and is part of the coaching team at Toowong Rowing Club where he has coached a crew of junior schoolgirls to medals at National Championships . He is married to Nicole and is well out numbered at home by females, with 3 daughters.

Dr Yohann Sooltangos

Dentist

Dr Yohann graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2017 with a Graduate Diploma in Dental Sciences and had been working in private practice Port Macquarie before moving home to Brisbane and joining out team.

He  understands that seeing a dentist can sometimes be a bit daunting so his primary focus is making sure his patients always feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible.  He believes that dentistry is continually evolving and improving so he aims to stay up to date with new techniques that are faster, more efficient and more gentle to provide the best treatment for his patients.

He enjoys all the different fields of dentistry, including preventative and cosmetic work but he has a particular interest in prosthodontic work (dentures, crowns, bridges, veneers).

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his young family, swimming, soccer and food.

Dr Caroline Dunn

Dentist

Dr Caroline graduated from the University of Leeds in 2005, and has worked in both General Dental Practice and maxillofacial surgery, in both the UK and Dubai. While in England Caroline gained further qualifications from the Cambridge Academy of Implantology and the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery.

In early 2013 Caroline moved with her husband and twin children to Brisbane. Caroline enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from cosmetic dentistry to oral surgery with the aim of ensuring that her patients dental experience is both relaxing and pleasant and is also a member of the Australian Dental Association. In her spare time Caroline enjoys running, skiing and reading.

Dr Mariska Taverne

Dentist

Dr Mariska Taverne completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland and worked on the Gold Coast before joining us at Anzac Avenue Dental.  She has an interest in all aspects of general dental care.  She is bi-lingual in English and Dutch languages.

Outside of work Mariska loves to cook and our staff room is often filled with tasty treats.

Shanti

Hygienist & Orofacial Myology clinician

Where dental hygiene is concerned, Shanti aims to promote excellent oral health standards by educating and guiding patients to successful oral hygiene according to each individuals needs. The Preventive Care team also try to provide these services to the community by visiting preschools, schools and aged care facilities to share their knowledge and expertise.
Shanti has a specific passion in the prevention and treatment of gum or periodontal disease and achieve excellent results with their treatment and maintenance approaches. She has also recently completed further study allowing her to work with early intervention orthodontics, helping children develop tongue and breathing habits that can aid in correct facial development and reduce the need for complex orthodontic treatment down the track.  Shanti graduated from Curtin University in 2003.

Jeff

Oral Heath Therapist - adult scope of practice

Jeff graduated from the University of Otago in New Zealand and completed his adult scope qualification at Sydney University.  He loves working with people and is passionate about helping to improve the health of teeth and gums, knowing how important it is for overall health and wellbeing.  Jeff heads up our hygiene program and assists our patients with their routine preventive care visits, periodontal treatment and children's dental care.

Nicole

Practice Manager and Treatment Coordinator

Nicole has been looking after the business, administration and human resource components of our practice for the last 20 years. Her background is in general nursing, women's health and health education and she oversees the maintenance of our high standard of patient care.  She coordinates the exceptional service you will experience each time you visit us at Anzac Avenue Dental.  She is available to discuss your treatment options and answer any questions you may have before, during and after your treatment.  Along with many years of clinical and management experience, Nicole has degrees in Nursing, Arts (Sociology and Social Science), Graduate Diplomas in Midwifery and Community Health Education and a Masters in Health Care Management and Leadership.

Mel and Tracey

Front Office Coordinators

Coordinating appointments that fit in with your schedule is a priority for us at Anzac Avenue Dental.  Mel and Tracey have extensive clinical and administrative experience in the dental industry and will work with you to manage and organize everything you need both before and after your visit.
